Morphology

Morphology focuses on the making of objects. Priority is given to the creative process and to its implementation. Students experiment with materials and media forms, depending on the assignment. They thereby gain experience in the conversion of an idea to the creation of an object. An important part is also the copying of examples. Studying them leads to an understanding of the motifs and techniques. By working with existing ideas, materials and objects, students discover that design is not just about originality, but also about cohering with existing givens. Students thus learn to examine the requisite skills, techniques, assignments and clients in the field of their professional practice from an unconventional angle.

Content: Follow-up to V3: combining existing objects to form assemblages.

Method: Studying and processing three-dimensional examples under the supervision of professional designers from different backgrounds.

Duration Eight weeks. Study workload and credits: 28 hours and 1 European Credit.
